Wasnt told the whole balance had to be available on a credit card even though I had it all in cash. So I couldn't rent the car.

When I made my reservation I checked online and saw that there was a shuttle to the rental lot. I also called the 1-800 number and again found a message that there was a shuttle service to their lot. When I arrived at the airport I discovered there was no shuttle to the off-site lot. I was told by Sixt to grab an Uber to their location. I ended up walking to their lot to pick up my rental. The pickup process went well and was easy. The rep pointed out the vehicle to me and handed me the keys. He then suggested that I take photos or a video of the vehicle for any damages and walked away from me. I took an overall video of the vehicle at the time of pickup and drop off. I’m so glad I did because Sixt reported damages to the vehicle when I turned it in. These damaged area’s were captured on my photo images from when I picked up the car. I am now in the process of disputing the damages with Sixt. As far as the cost of the rental, I was satisfied with it. I was also satisfied with the cleanliness of the vehicle. I was not pleased to find out that there was no shuttle and the damage claim.

Rental office closes at midnight. Even though they accepted the pick up time after midnight, we were unable to get the car from them. Had to rent from another agency and pay higher price.

No complaints, all my issues were resolved right away,

The branch manager, Manouchka Castor, was excellent. The car was higher mileage, and a few years old, with only the most basic trim level, but was decently cleaned.

The problem itself is not with the car rental company, but with the Kayak. I made the first reservation, however, with the wrong time, so the car rental company suggested that I make another reservation, which I did. I picked up a car and they charged me for 2. I'm waiting for a response to this.

There were literally hundreds of people in line because other rental car companies were out of cars. Thrifty agents were pleasant despite the crush of people, and a difficult situation went well. Amazing.

Paid for “Corolla or similar” but pretty sure I got a smaller car. We made due but not sure I will use them again

The Hertz rental location manager did not have my vehicle ready and available for me at my scheduled time and then proceeded to blame my frustration on my being 30 minutes late past my scheduled pickup time, which was kind of an odd excuse for why my rental was not ready or available. An hour later, the rental vehicle arrived on the lot in horrible shape (dirty on the outside and a complete mess on the inside). The story from the store manager was that the vehicle needed an oil change and that's why it was not on the lot. So, I drove away in my filthy late vehicle that I had prepaid for about 3 weeks prior. The most intriguing part of my Hertz rental experience was when the Hertz rental location manager arrived at my home un-announced and un-invited about 2 hours after I picked up the rental vehicle and told me it was an emergency that the prior renter had left something inside the vehicle. I was flustered not only at the fact that this manager had decided to show up without my knowledge or consent, but also because I was still working and on a phone call so I wanted to just make him leave. At this point, my children had already put some of their bags into the rental vehicle as we were about to depart on our road trip within the next hour. So, as I allowed the Hertz manager to search for this mystery item I noticed that he was being extremely guarded and not sharing what he was looking for. I understood why when he located the item and tried to hide it from me... It was a GUN. A pistol inside the rental vehicle right next to where my kids would be sitting. I was so amazingly upset, angry, frustrated and utterly dumbfounded that I just wanted him to leave. I reported all of this experience and information to Hertz and I am still awaiting an apology, a confirmation, some form of compensatory value but most importantly an explanation as to how this happened and how they will ensure that it never happens again!! I have contacted Hertz multiple times through social media, by phone, by email, but every response has been "we are looking into it". Unless something unexpected happens, I fully expect to ignore me unless legally forced to do something. I would probably try and avoid a company like this - especially because they are just coming off of a massive lawsuit settlement where they falsely claimed renters had stolen their rental vehicles and had them arrested!! What a great company! Avoid Hertz. You'll be happier.

The car pick up and drop off experience was smooth but Hertz charged me multiple extra charges (including a charge double the entire cost of the car rental and the cost of the toll when I had paid the toll in cash and intentionally declined the toll pass) that I had to call them about after my trip, which was time consuming and annoying.

My flight was delayed from Eugene to Denver so I missed my connecting flight which made me late getting to Tampa. When I got to Ace to pickup my car I was told they gave my economy car to someone else. I was not instructed when reserving the car that I needed to call if my plane was delayed otherwise I would have. I also overheard the agent tell someone else they overbooked themselves. She wasn't very sympathetic with my situation. Then I was told they could give me a Toyota RAV but when I went to pickup my vehicle they tried to give me a large minivan. This was not acceptable so I advised the man helping me to please find me another car. I was then given a Nissan Kicks. On top of all this I was charged an extra 10 bucks a day plus tax for the rental fees. I was expecting to pay roughly $465 but ended up paying $610. I am not confident to use ACE in the future.

Toyota cross has adaptive cruise control which is great for the freeway.

Over charged almost $200

Signed contract and agreed with reservation on car size and cost and received actual agreement at pickup but after returning rental charged something different for cost of rental and no receipt followed to show why so takes time after my vacation to call budget to get explanation. Not happy

Drop off was crazy, lack of customer support personnel

We had booked a van online at Tampa international airport and when we got there we were told we didn’t but they said u must have been re-routed to a Avis agent half hour north of airport- this was terrible- then we were told we could not return it at Tampa and had to bring it back the agent or we would be charged - terrible - we should be partially compensated for out trouble Darren

I arrived at the airport at one am and had a car reservation and they gave it away and stranded me. I will never rent another car from this company again!

Kayak states fee cancellation, not the case. Stood in line over 1 hour to rent a car and their systems were down along with cars not available. I left the line and Uber Ed to my destination
