They claimed they did not have the size SUV we reserved available, yet there were a number of them sitting under "reserved" signs across the lot. They tried to give us a significantly smaller SUV saying that was all they had. In addition, the staff were rude and unhelpful. Three customer service people sat at their desks with no line at the lot while a line 20 people deep was upstairs. When I asked the "customer service" desk at the lot to add my Hertz gold info to my rental, they said I had to wait in line upstairs. This is not the first rude and unhelpful episode I've had at the Boston Hertz site. They made no effort to remedy the situation to find an SUV near the size of the Yukon we reserved. We left and had a great customer service experience at Dollar instead. This Hertz location consistently offers an appalling customer service experience.

The pick up was painful. It took 30 minutes of them trying to sell me extra stuff that I didn't need. The app didn't work so I was forced to talk with an agent to pick the car up. Someone smoked weed in the car so I had to go to Walmart and buy a de-odor sprayer to help. The car was clean and in perfect condition other than the smoke. Drop off was very smooth.

The first car they gave us was dirty inside and had paint marker writing on the outside of the windows. As we were driving out of the lot it was making loud clunking noises so we turned around and swapped it for another car. She told us the new car was the same size but it was much bigger (she lied). Then when we were returning in Manhattan there was a street fair happening that blocked all access to the rental place. After 1.5 hours of driving around I took it upon myself to drive the wrong way down a one way street to finally make it to Avis. Not their fault but they could have answered the phone when I called to troubleshoot.

I got dirty car. Especially windows were cleaned with something like hand cream. And smell inside of cigarettes. In Avis as the obe who is maintaining smoke free fleet.

Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location. Helpful to have separate drop off location.

Off airport, had to take an Uber. Service was fine.

Agent tried to upcharge, seemed threatening when I declined. Vehicle interior was grungy dirty,no vacuum evident at airport site . Return attendant did not offer a receipt, I assume one will be electronically sent. I liked 24 hour operation

When I showed up for my reservation the car was not there. The lobby was filled with other people who had reservations but dollar had no cars. They told us to wait until someone brought a car back for us but they didn’t know how long that would be. Dollar charges no late fees for late returns of their cars. Which in theory is good for the renter of the car, but has a domino effect on other customers. I ended up leaving and not getting a car at all. Will not rent from them ever again

(1) The line at the Dollar check at Logan airport was very long with only one agent at the desk and it was close to closing time at 7:00pm. The agent was very friendly and did the best he could under the circumstances. However, each check in took about 10 minutes to process. The wait time was about an hour. (2) My rental car had terrible visibility and shimmied from any gust of wind. Parking the car was very difficult because the camera and park assist were useless. (3) The only positives were the friendly agents at check in and at drop off.

The Boston Logan Thrifty pick-up process was horrendous. They were understaffed and slow. There was a line of 30+ customers trying to pick up cars that took over an hour to get through. The other rental car lines had no one. Recommend another company.

At both pickup and drop off in the parking garage, they appear to be understaffed. I had to look for someone to tell me which cars I could choose from and at drop off, no clear instructions were given. There were other people arriving at the same time as me, so it was not a case of only one customer.

The car was not ready on time. The waiting line was many hundreds of meters long.

Clerk could have described the $200 hold on the account better
