There were stickers over the trunk and passenger doors saying do not open in different languages. No one removed them and we drove away with a car that looked like it was part of an investigation or something. We arrived at our very affluent friends house and they were appalled. What type of company would allow a customer to drive away like that??? Very disappointing and we may use a different company for all of our travels if something isn't done about this.
- The gentleman at the counter was nice.
-No signs indicate where the rental pickup location is. Had to ask a concierge in a hotel lobby. -Provided a damaged vehicle and placed blame on me when I returned the vehicle. -The car exterior was quite dirty. I assume it had been sitting in a garage under a dripping stalactite.
The staff in the return station (99 charles st, nyc) is impolite to serve us. Maybe this is becoz we are chinese? I think this is kind of discrimmination. Will never rent a car jn Dollar.
It was convenient. I was told that we would be picked up, just call. Called the 800 number was told to hold for a minute was on over 45 minutes, had my husband call the local they never answered. Gave up on the 45 minute hold. Took a taxi when we got there was told they don't pick up on weekends. I had called before I left for the trip and specifically told them where I would be and the day and was told no problem. They did make an adjustment for part of the taxi fare. Return was pretty easy. But the girl didn't know the number you had to call for the shuttle. Fortunately we hit a very nice lady who helped us out.
This rental was good value for money. Rental was an SUV and pick up and drop off was different locations, which can be costly. The staff at both locations were friendly.
The customer service was efficient && kind.
We returned a day earlier than planned and Enterprise gave us credit for the unused day - which we appreciated. Really nice rental vehicle - only 6400 miles on it and very clean.
there weren’t enough people working when i picked up the car, so it took a verrrrry long time
Unfortunately no positives
Reservation made the previous day around midday. I was called en route to picking it up appx. a half hour before my reservation time to be told that it was canceled due to unavailability. I cannot fathom why you would advertise a reservation for a car that you didn't have available, and then cancel it so close to the pick up time.
Car wasn't ready at reservation time. Car requested wasn't available. Car smelled like smoke.
Desk staff was helpful.
Car wasn't clean, Lot attendant was not very friendly. seemed annoyed we had to report a scratch on the car and didnt know the exit process at this location We'd been told car had EZ pass enabled, but most tolls showed it unpaid. Hoping we didn't rack up a lot of fines.
The car smelled bad when we received it, it was quite damages. After a moth of hacving returned it without any issues, Avis is claiming that I was responsible for the damage which I was absolutely not. I have insurance and their signed form which already proves the damage was the previous to my rental dat, but still I need to be involved in defending this claims and tenths of long and time wasting calls with them and their claims company. I will NEVER rent from Avis again
Easy pick-up. Easy drop-off. Flat-rate for tolls was amazing. No fuss at any step in the process. Both offices were friendly staffed and quick.
The floors in the back of the car were a little dirty. Not a huge deal. The car also didn't get particularly good mileage for an economy, but again, no biggie.
Dropoff was great
Windshield in car was super dirty -
We did not get to utilize our rental since there were no cars available.
Communication between the rental company and the third party. We shouldn’t of been able to book a car if there were none available.
Flight was delayed and the rental facility was closed and I had to get another car. You can’t cancel your reservation and they close at 5. They are NOT at the airport. It is 15 minutes away. Beware! Run! Go somewhere else!
Paid over $200 more for an upgrade because they didn't have the car I prepaid for
That hertz is the worst place I’ve ever rented a car at, the car I rented was really dirty on the outside and a little dirty on the inside, I told the guy that brought it out and he said they didn’t clean the outside of the car which I’ve never heard of, it was the worst experience I’ve ever had renting a car, I definitely would never go back to the Freeport st in Dorchester and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go there either.
When we picked up the car the staff took the car to the back of the building. He did not said why, but after we the left the next morning the tires lights and engine lights came up. This is poor customer services because it cause stress to the customer even that it could been a recalibration it is not proper service that I was expecting from Hertz. What a shame!
Cheryl at Boston Logan airport helped me out when my flight was cancelled and I had no other alternative to get home other than renting a car on short notice. Cheryl was knowledgeable, friendly, and got me a comfortable, new SUV for the long drive home. My experience with Cheryl made my long, stressful day much easier to deal with. Cheryl is an outstanding Hertz colleague and deserves to be recognized for her superior customer service.
Kayak.com put an off-airport listing at the top of my search even though I specifically searched for an airport site. As a result I had a reservation at the wrong location. I didn't find out about this until I was physically at the desk, which happened to be the time I was supposed to pick up the car because I actually schedule things. As a result I couldn't cancel the other reservation and the guy at the desk was useless in this regard. Fortunately I was able to get a car on the spot however I am still unsure if I will be charged for the missed reservation. I place full blame on the kayak.com website for allowing non-search related results to come up at the top of their lists. This isn't the first time this has happened but it is the first in where I didn't catch their bait-and-switch in time. Lesson learned.
