I was unaware that I had booked a vehicle off-site from CLT. The Kayak booking confirmation did not specify that it was OFF-SITE. I'm not familiar with the Charlotte area, nor do I know the address to the airport rental car facility. Therefore, I had no idea it wasn't AT the airport. Kayak needs to do a better job of letting their customers know that certain facilities are not at the airport. The rental facility was approximately 20 minutes away, which resulted in a $25 Uber ride to the off-site location. I was only in town for the day, so I was on a tight schedule. The representative at the Hertz location was very polite, helpful and accommodating. I even received a special discount for having to pay for an Uber. I was allowed to drop the car back off at the airport, which helped me on a tight time-table. The vehicle itself was generally disheveled. There was a lot of dust and grime on the interior. Crumbs in crevices, a mask and a dirty napkin in the center console, food and empty water bottles under the passenger seat. The passenger seat was also heavily stained by coffee and potentially bodily fluids. Disgusting. Good MPG on the vehicle (Hyundai Tuscon), but lackluster performance and driving excitement.
