This location that i reserved at DID NOT EXIST. It had been closed for years and was actually a hotel. I tried to pivot to a nearby Hertz location but all were either out of cars or closed at the time I discovered I was sent to a ghost location. Customer service via phone was atrocious, and they would not honor my reservation rate at an alternate location. Went with a different rental company, and will not be using Hertz in the future at all.

Pickup/Drop-off is located at a homeless shelter hotel (333 So. Figueroa) in downtown LA. Was not expecting that Hertz would be located on the driveway (not interior) and no place to sit on the sidewalk. Service was friendly and efficient and car was fine. I know downtown LA well so that lots of homeless people were receiving services at the entrance to the hotel, did not concern me; but think it would for tourists unfamiliar with the area.
Has a reservation, only to be told at pick up they had no car available. Told us we’d just have to come back or wait 4hrs or more. No accountability no apology just rude, unprofessional. When i complained as to why no one contacted me ahead of time, and that making a reservation was literally to avoid this situation they said they won’t rent to me! Worst experience ever will never book Herz again.
The rental place did not have my car when I showed up to pick it up. They claimed they tried calling me beforehand and claimed they didn't have my phone number even though it was clearly on the reservation. Needless to say, I would never use them again.
Pickup location DID NOT EXIST.. Reservation was automatically changed to an address on the OTHER SIDE of Los Angeles With NO Notice. Called and they refused to move the reservation to a closer location.
Scam. Trying to get money from me for false damage.

Staff was not willing to work with me whatsoever. I called ahead of time to make sure I could use a debit card for the deposit and the woman told me over the phone that I could. I get to pick it up after traveling by plane and the assistant manager told me that they are "just the people that answer

Pickup took about 40 minutes due to holiday volume and Lenny today was very professional via phone and processed a 10% discount given the wait. Lenny was very professional with his customer service.

Not all cars are pet friendly. We were originally given a car that was not pet friendly and not what we reserved on line. We took the car and drove about 45 mins away to another Avis which had the type of car we requested and was pet friendly.
Ils m ont facturé des assurances en plus alors que je leur avais dit non et en plus j ai du changer de voiture en milieu de location car les vérification d usage n avaient pas été effectué et il ni avait plus d huile dans la voiture. Et je ne parle pas de l impolitesse de l agent d avis.
Make the special low rate for long rentals (more than 30 days, less than 30$/day) available at the airport rather than at a downtown office.
The gir who help me with my car was very rude didn't explain anything properly and I ask questions and she didn't answer 😑
Our arrival on Westjet was delayed by over an hour & the rental was given to someone else. Avis would not honour the reservation and to duplicate it would have cost over $USD1500! We ended up with a $USD375 weekend rental with a hold-back of $150 & I ended up taking a shuttle to Santa Barbara and train/bus combo to Oakland for the remainder of my stay in California.
The car was really just not much for the money. Gas was 3/4 a tank which was annoying as a full tank would have got me there and It just weirdly got annoying. Checking It out they talked alot about how you can't return It dirty and you can't return It dirty but then there was no windshield wiper fluid in the car. Car was pretty scratched up and I just feel like they are gonna try and charge me for some small scratch.
Sign said Budget open till 7p.m. Was there before that but the office was closed. Was told we'd still have to pay the same amount even though we were picking up the car the next day. Car had streaks on it.
There was no car available to pick up. Your service sucks.
Drop off was easy and staff there was great! Pickup was another story entirely. Made reservations February 5 for a June 22 pick up and the guys at LA first told me they have no vehicle. After 45 minutes to an hour and while on hold for 20 minutes trying to talk to a budget representative, he suddenly has a vehicle (even after calling the budget down the road). Went to go get the vehicle and the other guy had to move another vehicle to get our out. Clearly they had the vehicle all along. There I am with my family and all our luggage downtown LA being told no vehicles are available after making reservations months in advance, I feel like the guy took amusement in watching us scramble.
They had no cars available. You read that correctly. A car rental company had no cars available for rent. Despite making a reservation well in advance, despite having received multiple confirmation emails, when I arrived they told me they had no cars available. I was unable to rent a car and was forced to buy a last minute plane ticket instead. This demonstrates an unacceptable level of abject incompetence. I will never rent from Budget ever again.
