My concierge at the counter, Faye, was the real winner. She was courteous and efficient and personable. When her assistants in the lot could not seem to give her the correct car VIN to match her computer record (she asked at least 5 times to have them relay the correct # to no avail—the last two of her requests went unanswered even ☹️)—that’s when Faye took matters into her own hands. After having me wait 15 minutes for her assistants to do their job, Faye ditched them entirely and upgraded my rental herself, allowing me to move on in time to make my fathers funeral. Faye’s lot assistants may need a review and some more training—but FAYE WAS STELLAR AND MADE MY WHOLE TRIP UNCOMPLICATED—and even stylishly comfortable. Faye deserves a BONUS/raise!!

I was able to return the car to a different location from the place where I picked it up. Hertz ( the agents at the return location at Ft. Myers Airport ) were wonderful , real professional and I do appreciate all their assistance. My many thanks.

The Herz office where we booked our car through Kayak did not have any cars available. They said that a "glitch" in the system was allowing cars to be booked through Kayak and other consolidators, even though there were no cars available, even at the time of booking. This was a terrible situation, which should never have occurred. Kayak needs to work with Herz to correct the problem. I'm not inclined to use Kayak ever again. We were unable to get a car at the last minute, and had to cancel our plans.

The car we received had been obviously hit and not reported or fixed. We picked it up and went back to hotel to grab the family. We opened the back latch of the van amd the whole end of fin with back stop light came off. We called back to hertz, nothing they could do. They noted it in our contract which was good- so far we know of, but it was a safety issue. They said there was no other vehicle that would fit seven in their inventory. We asked if there’s a different location they sent us there and they told us they could do nothing for us. There is absolutely no easy way to rent vehicles during this time which must be related to Covid. We felt we were given the runaround and absolutely no support whatsoever. We kept the vehicle drove to our next destination which was an hour away. Used it very limited for fear something else might break. Dropped it back off where picked it up at the end of our trip. It was a joke and nightmare. When we returned it they said, that vehicle can’t be rented out it’s a safety issue! We said we know but when we had it you did nothing for us! No credit given. I am reporting this to the Hertz corporate, not sure it will help. A lot of money for a piece of junk and extremely poor port service!

Due to a wait at the airport for our luggage, we arrived less than an hour after our agreed upon pickup time. Hertz was closed. I planned on returning the next day to pick up my car. They had given away my reservation. I had no vehicle the entire week and was forced to Uber. Ubering ended up being a much better option and I will no longer use Kayak nor Hertz in the future.

The place was in complete disarray, the clerks have no regard for the customers, there is no rhyme or reason on the order of people being serviced and the lead clerk is extremely rude.

Some confusion over the pick up location when booked on line. Hannah &, in particular, Shelsey, were extremely helpful & diligent in completing the reservation at RSW Airport location. Unfortunately, our first rental displayed engine maintenance caution near the mid point of our lease, so we had to return it for a replacement. Once again, the staff at RDW Airport were efficient at handling the transaction.

I'm glad we arrived early. The car needed to be cleaned so we had to wait 20min before it was ready. We did take possession of the rental on time. Just get there early to get paperwork done and to allow time to prep the car. The car was clean and had a full tank of gas which was appreciated.

Payless airport reps rude. No shuttle to car rental from RSW airport. Had to take Lyft which added to rental cost. Not a good deal or value since it was very inconvenient. Car was given to me with low tire pressure light on. Back tires extremely low. All maintenance items should be checked and taken care of before picking up rental car.

When we made our reservation, one of the questions was what time our flight arrived. So, when we arrived at the airport we went to the rental counter. after a wait of about 20 minutes, we were informed that our rental was with an off-site location. Not just off-site, but 15 miles away!! There was an address on the confirmation but, not living in ft Meyers, we didn't recognize the extreme off-sitedness of the location. after a $50 cab ride, we discovered the site was closed. they close at 5 pm (we had said our flight arrived at 4:20). Not only did they not tell us they were off-site, but they also didn't tell us they were going to close just a few minutes after we collected our luggage. their customer service wanted to increase our rate by more than double because "we were changing or reservation"!!!

We don't rent cars often, so we didn't realize that the car rental was off the airport, rather than the convenient location on the airport. The rental office had a sign that they pick up and deliver. (?)

The pick up point was a 20 minute ride from the airport. We hadn't factored in the cost of taxi from airport and back to airport. The rental agent tried to sell me a damage waiver. I paid $72 to Kayak to cover this --the agent told me that i had been scammed. I will report this to Kayak as ell.

Ordered car for Ft Myers Airport... but reservation was booked for another Ft Myers location. Car ordered was not available so I was given an "upgrade". Upgrade vehicle had engine trouble pulling out of the airport and had to turn around and exchange vehicle. At drop off the wrong form was used that delayed processing. Finally, I was billed for a full tank of gas when I declined during pickup and returned the car with a full tank. It was removed but the entire process was an avalanche of problems. Ultimate car was nice and staff was pleasant in handling.. but not a good overall experience.
