The Van was perfect for 6 people plus luggage. Easy to drive, too, despite its size. Picking it up and dropping it off at SFO couldn’t have been easier.

car was clean. check-in agent was friendly. however, are some ideas to improve 1. many companies upgrade customers just for the sake of prompting business, and keep happy 2. the car we rented sputtered several times. cars should be maintained more frequently. 3. car had close to 50,000 miles and that's quite a bit on a rental car. should be retired. 4. price to value is no good. I paid a total of $202 for one day of rental. that's is quite a bit. your rate is high, the taxes are high, and everything else is simply too expensive. 5. I booked a Kia Rio 2023, and I received a Nissan Versa with 50.000 miles on it.

I did not enjoy waiting 45 minutes in line to pickup the car. Also, it ended up being a Hertz vehicle and Hertz had practically no line, so that added Insult to Injury.

I was not able to pick up a rental at Thrifty. The counter was closed (at 10pm) yet my reservation was for 10pm. I was charged for this reservation (through rentalcars.com) even though I could not pick up the car. Shameless. Horrible. I've been emailing with rentalcars.com and they stand by their no refunds etc. But there was no service. Horrible.

Waited over an hour in line at 2:30 on a Thursday at SFO with a reservation to get my rental. Made me late for my meeting. Agent was great

The Toyota 4Runner we received was nice but not newer like we are used to. That said I understand that there is a shortage of newer vehicles and I am sure that coupled with the back and forth of the pandemic has not made things easy on the rental industry. The woman who checked us in was amazing! Incredibly sweet, efficient, personable and had us out the door quickly. Also the deposit was $150 when in the past it has been $500 with other rental companies. Granted you get the money back but I’ll definitely consider Fox again for this reason and the customer service was a 10+ The cleanliness of the restrooms would be my only real complaint. But they were also very busy and moving clients through quickly so I’m sure the bathrooms are the last thing on their agenda for the day. Overall a great company to do business with.

I should get a regular SUV and drive from SFO to PHX, but they said that I've booked an electric SUV, I said it is not possible. I'm sure they lied to me because they didn't have a regular SUV. Therefore I rented an SUV in Alamo but paid in 2 times higher.

The line to pickup was very long, but I signed up for Avis preferred (a free signup) while in line and I got much faster service. The car was very nice and drop off was great.

I wanted to provide some feedback to Kayak because there may have been a misleading claim made on my rental. When I went online to do my booking originally, it very clearly stated on the KAYAK website that I would receive a "Mystery Car" at Avis but spelled out that it would be a "sedan that seats 4 people". When I got to the AVIS counter in SFO, they said that it was a mystery car so it was up to them to issue any four door car, so they gave me a pickup truck which was not very satisfactory. First of all, it was not a sedan and second, the trunk at the back was an open bed which made it awkward to travel with exposed luggage. I pleaded with the counter agent that the website specified a sedan with four doors and they asked for my reservation and apparently it just showed a 4 door vehicle and did not specify a sedan, like the KAYAK website did originally when I hit the confirm button on the reservation. I would like to know how this happened because the only reason I proceeded to make the reservation is because the website specified a "sedan with 4 doors" but when the booking partner who provided the deal sent me the confirmation, sedan did not appear to be listed. I really don't appreciate this as to me, it is false advertisement and misleading sales tactics. I could care less what sedan they gave me as long as it was a sedan. But they insisted, all they had was the pickup truck which did not make my vacation enjoyable at all. I reached out to the partner that made the booking with AVIS and they suggested it is likely KAYAK's issue in what they may have printed in the ad. Regardless, I was the one who was out in the end, as I had an uncomfortable ride and ended up paying at least the amount of gas.
