I booked last minute with Budget so that we could drive to Positano, Almalfi Coast. Both the pick up and drop off was smooth and easy. Highly recommended.

Car dive nicely - no issues atball

It look over 1.5 hours to get the car which mostly killed that day for us.

All the customer service representatives were very friendly!

We spent nearly an hour with the agent trying to sell us insurance we kept saying we didn't want. Then I asked about switching to an automatic. When it was apparent that the automatic transmission car was going to cost about 400 euro more, we said no forget it, that we'd go with what we had reserved. But he kept making tweaks and changes to the deal to try to get us to go with the bigger car (seriously, after a translatlantic flight and NO sleep, who wants to spend an hour with someone trying to upsell you?). Finally I said, I just want the car I reserved. And he said, ok, we'll give you the bigger car for the same price. What??? I suspect the car I reserved wasn't even available so the whole thing had been a charade to get us to get the bigger vehicle. And only it wasn't exactly the same price I had reserved it at. We had a heck of a time with a 9-passenger vehicle trying to get through some of the narrow streets and ended up scratching a bumper. All in all, I would avoid Budget/Avis at all costs!

In pick up location lady asked me some other type of driving license paper one, refused to give a car, but for your information i was in Italy 7 times and i was using my driving license wich is international! After i just pass the road to other budjet car rental and got a car, and drivier license was good and they didint asked me any other paper based stupid license! I was very disappointed and i don’t reccomend hertz

L’ufficio d inizio noleggio era lontano dal garage dove si ritirava la vettura. Avevo prenotato una Fiat 500 X o simile ma l’impiegato dell’ufficio mi ha informato che invece una Renault sarebbe stata disponibile. Per me sarebbe stato OK ma poi ho scoperto che la vettura era una DR di fabbricazione cinese!!!! Mai vista prima! Con solo 37000 km le sospensioni anteriori erano già “cotte”. Vi sembra il modo di operare? Il servizio di consegna a Venezia era OK.

Paulette was really helpful when we picked up. The drop off was not as easy in Milan, because it wasn’t clear where to go, so we went into the store to ask but there was only one person working and a lot of people waiting. I waited 30 minutes to talk to someone and was told that I just needed to drive up to the 5th floor of garage to return.

They messed up the pickup and drop off and now we have no where to leave the car. Total failure

They were not prepared when we picked up the car and despite arranging an after hours drop off before traveling and again in Rome when picking up the car we discovered there was no place to leave it in Sanremo. So, we had to cancel plans to travel to France yesterday and stay in Sanremo, now Hertz is closed and we still have nowhere to leave the car!

Pick up was fine but when i needed to drop off an hour late they wanted to charge me an extra day. So, I ended up dropping it off before the drop off time however when I received my bill it said it was late by 2 hours and they charged me. Also, I was charged almost 10x the agreed price to my credit card. Never again.

Great experience overall. I had a fun little manual hybrid Fiat 500 that was perfect for Italy. Zero deductible damage insurance gave me some peace of mind in a foreign country.

Nothing comes to mind

One guy there. He was absolutely struggling. Only three customers, and I was customer #2. It literally took over an hour to get checked out because the system was down.

Rental was satisfactory in terms of car

The Kayak rate was not honored. The returning team at airport agreed that I was not charged correctly but said the pickup location had to fix it. I've complained but heard no response.
