They didn't have the car I requested. They did not try to find a replacement or help me find one. All they did is suggest i take an Uber to the airport since they have a bigger fleet there.

Fair value for money

The pickup location had closed down and no one informed me. I went to the alternate location which was posted on a sign on their closed door. That location said my booking was with a third hire location. When I eventually received a vehicle it was used previously by a heavy smoker. The residual of our was so strong it infiltrated by clothes. I am not a smoker. Overall a very poor experience

Car was clean and comfortable.

At pickup I was not given any detailed paperwork or told of a large drop off fee to leave car in Dallas from Houston. Once I dropped it off I was charged over $100 for a drop off fee. If I had known about the fee I would have flown to Dallas with my miles which would have been much cheaper. I think they did this on purpose. Renter beware.

Very slow pick up process. They also wanted proof of my current auto insurance plan. I don’t carry that with me when traveling. A manager told the desk worker that she could waive that requirement.

Communication to avoid time wasted would have been very nice. I understand not having cars available due to the shortage. I do not understand allowing a reservation to go through, waiting till I arrive to tell me there are no cars available instead of calling me before hand, and then sending me to another location knowing the situation is the same there. 0/10, would not recommend to anyone.

I made my reservations through Kayak. When I went to pick up my rental car, the location informed me that they were not a designed pick-up for reservations made through Kayak. They did not honor the reservation. The Hertz representative did not offer any other locations for me to try. I had to scramble and find another rental car from a different location and ended up paying an additional $100.

Customer service was great at this location. They were very nice, courteous and helpful. The price was exactly what was quoted which was the best deal I could find in the area and couldn't have asked for anything more.

Nothing that I didn't like. I got everything that was expected.

At least in Houston, renting a car at IAH was literally going to cost double which is ridiculous. So good to have options elsewhere in the city. ;)

I learned the hard way that not all Hertz locations have off hour drop off capability (likely this is for all rental companies). It was partly my fault for forgetting to change the default noon to noon drop off times when booking online, but the end result was a big hassle given our pick up location was closed all day Sunday and didn't open Monday until 7:30 am. We had a 10:00 am international flight to catch and this wasn't an airport location. We changed the drop off to a nearby location for $30 but there it was anything but intuitive. Got it done after much hassle and since I haven't heard anything I assume all is well.
