Cheap Car Hire in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco from ₹ 418

The woman who helped me at the San Francisco location was AMAZING! The only complaint I have is that the vehicles available weren’t what I would consider luxury. For example, the most luxury sedan available was a BMW 3 series.

Service was excellent at the front desk (both gals). Car was more than expected and value was pretty good.

The pickup process was good, no problems and went smoothly. However, the drop-off process was a problem. I told the woman in San Francisco that even though the rental agreement said we would be dropping it off at Portland Airport at 9 am, we would actually be dropping it off much earlier because our flight was at 6:15 am. We showed up around 4:15 and not only was there no one there to help us with the drop off process, there were no instructions, nowhere to put the key for safekeeping, and we had a hard time getting even the front wheels parked over the spike strip to provide any security for the car at all. The entrance to the drop off was completely blocked with other cars. The portable kiosks used for desks were cluttered and offered no information. We did the best we could and ended up snapping a picture of me holding the keys with the front wheels past the spikes barely an inch from the car in front of it. We figured that was the best we could do to prove we actually dropped the car off if it went missing. Thank you, Jenn Person

Hertz overcharged $100 for fuel and we returned the car the same amount it was, we didn't get any receipt and communicating with an agent via phone has been horrible, still no answers. Very bad experience with Hertz.

Pickup and dropoff were really easy. Car provided was in great condition. However there are a lot of hidden costs that aren't mentioned during online rental and also not often clarified at the counter till you look at the receipt and check the components. All in all I had a great time, but do set aside 2x the listed budget you find for these potential extra hidden costs.

I had to add liability to the rental since Priceline/kayak didn’t offer it. On balance hertz was fine but kayak didn’t save me a lot. Bait and switch.
