I paid for the car , the car was not filled with gas .The person who left to fill the gas took too long that I ended up having to leave without the rental car.

Pick up was a little slow (they were still cleaning the car), but on the other hand we were allowed to drop the car at the airport, instead of coming back to the city center the last day. Great value.

The car was fine but while I was driving it a maintenance required light came on.

The total cost was much higher than quoted

Easy pick up/ drop off . A little trash in the car. Couple of dings in the windshield only became apparent when we hit the road.

When we arrived in Calgary the office for Thrifty was closed. It closed at 1pm which was not publicized when we booked. We went back to the airport and only through contacting the head office would they rent us a vehicle, at an increased cost. We were stuck. Head office was great.

I would like to mention the staff great service, specially Mr. Ulises at Vancouver airport, he makes the drop off a very easy experience, he is kind and very professional.

What could of been better is that Avis not cancel my booking two days from my departure. They had no solutions for us.

The service was good except one particular situation. When I was at the airport waiting to board the plan to Calgary, AVIS rep called to let me know that they didn’t have a car for me. I told the rep that he must find me a car since I’ve booked the vehicle over a month ago and called to confirm the day before. The rep said he would try to find one from another location. Upon my arrival at Calgary, I got a voice message to pick up a car from another AVIS location. I was relieved that I had a rental car and the rep at the new location told me that he would honour the same rate as reserved. Apparently there’s a huge shortage of rental vehicles, the rates have gone up by a few hundred dollars for the same period. It’s devastating experience at the beginning to hear that there was no vehicle, but it worked out ok in the end.
