They did not have a car for my reservation at noon. Was told they likely would within 30 min so I suggested I go to lunch then come back. When I returned was told it could be another hour, but they could not guarantee it, it might be longer because some other employee needed to go to lunch, and blah blah blah. So did not rent a car.
Drop off was easy
They charges an additional $50 in taxes, on top of the taxes and fees already in the price. When I called, they said the quoted price was only an "estimate". They charged a total of $75 in taxes and fees for 2 days.......on an $81 rental car.
Nothing. This was the worst travel experience of my life. Not only with car rentals but of all travel experiences I have ever had.
The basics: Having my car at the correct location, offering a cleaned and working car.
I was confirmed for a car rental and they later called to tell me that they had no cars.
car interior was very obviously not cleaned. many stains/spills leftover from previous passenger.
Hertz location was embedded inside a car dealership and hard to find, when I arrived, there was no agent to be found, car was not ready and due to time constraints I accepted the car without it being cleaned, and finally I returned the car early and no credit was provided. Not likely that I will rent a car through Kayak again,
Hertz gave me a unregistered vehicle, which led me to get pulled over and harassed by cops. An illegal search and seizure happened and I was totally embarrassed. This was a TERRIBLE experience. How does Hertz not have updated registration on their vehicles that they are renting out? Very unprofessional.
A good car. In and out was fast.
Announce NEED for national Credit card...NO 💳 DEBIT CARDS....before driving across town in morning commute traffic. NO CALL NO TEXT NO WONDER WHY HERTZ IS NOW BANKRUPT —have you heard of the internet/ cellphones/ Texting
Almost Everything was great. Easy pick up and drop off. The only thing was that the car smelled like cigarettes but service out ways a lot of this. Overall a great experience.
i originaly had my reservation for the northwest hwy location. my pickup time was 2pm. i was called at 12pm and told i would get a call when my pickup was ready. and of course it never happened..at 3.10 pm i decided to call the location and was told truck was not available. and i would had to drive to a hour away location to pick up ...i would of never made it on time...i then decided to drive to the mesquite location where Johnnie helped me out and made my trip possible. note all offices close at 4pm jonnie very calmly helped me book my van and made me make my trip possible on time..thank you johnnie at the mesquite location so much.
I thought that I was renting a car at Avis and the DFW airport because that is where I flew in to. But when I got to my the Avis counter they told me my rental was for one of the suburbs 40 miles away! I was able to get a car at DFW but t had to pay nearly double the price! I will shop around a little bit more next time. It really aggravated me
Everything great, the guys at the office really help me out but the problem for me is the price, they even charge me a “less than 25 fee”?? My rate when from 88 to 169…. So it was really expensive tho
The reservation was made on Monday for Friday pick up and when I got to the car rental location they said they did not have a car available and could not find one at an alternative location.
Due to not having clarity on the address of the location, we went to airport location. Our rental was outside of the airport. We were two hours late and they gave away the car we reserved. From our experience, we will never use Avis or this service again
Arrived at the rental centre and was told a car was not available so we had to wait hours to get another car and had to pay extra money as they only had SUV available
I requested a pick-up and drop-off at DFW Airport. What your agency did was book me for an Avis that was 22 miles away from the airport. The end result is I had no choice but to pay a rate that was over $100 more than my reserved rate because I had no transportation to get to the other location. And, returning the car to the other location would have been a huge inconvenience. I will never use Kayak again.
The station owner over-charged me. He changed the contract price so that he could charge almost $60 extra. I want a refund.
My reservation was not available. Nothing worse than making a reservation and then receiving a voicemail in-flight stating no cars are available.
Budget had me picking my car up in east Dallas even though I was flying into DFW airport. Why? I ended up paying way more for a rental at the airport. I couldn’t get reimbursed for the first rental at the counter. I had to spend almost an hour on the phone getting a refund, including getting hung up once. The only bright note was that JJ at the rental counter was very helpful and got us on the road quickly after a full day of traveling.
Although there were no mechanical or reliability issues, the front tires need to be replaced & at highway speeds the vehicles backend is extremely noisy. Overall, a comfortable car, but it’s always in the back of your mind …”when is this thing going to fail & leave me stranded”… Fortunately that did not happen during this rental time.
