Probably my fault for not reading the fine print and booking a non refundable rental.
I purchased insurance when I booked. When I got there they told me if I didn't purchase an additional 67 euro of insurance id need to leave a1400euro liability deposit as well as 144euro deposit for fuel which would be locked out of my account for 30 days. I don't have that kind of money and didn't want to create overdraft fees, and wasn't willing to spend the extra 67 as I was renting the car for less then a day. Long story short I realized it was better to cut my losses with the 30something euros I'd already spent and just walk away. I'd never be willing to let over 1500euro potentially provide liability for other ace customers for over a month for a days rental.

Long story short got charged for damage that was not there. I believe with all my heart they charged me a damage fee cause they know my american credit card will pay for it and they are right (no deductible too) Scam!!!!

Car was clean and agent was helpful and the car was clean and well prepared.
Hard to find the gold car/Rhodium office that represents Ace rental cars. There was no description of the rental office location in reservation. the agent told me that if i was going to portugal i needed to purchase additional insurance. this was not mentioned anywhere in the reservation.

When I got to the airport I asked for ACE and no one knew anything about it or where it was. So, I had to rent elsewhere. I am still not sure it even exists there! It is a terrible way to arrive in a country and find out my reservation was on another country ending doing a diffrent reservation with a diffrent company

They didnt tell me that the car company is "goldcar", no body know what or who is Ace company in airport. Ace company rent from another car companies cars- they never mantion that! And also they didnt tell me that i supposed to go to Gold car or something familear and they didnt answer me when i was calling. The car i ordered was talken by other customer and i paid 60 Earo extra!!! to rent another car i wasnt ask.

Overall the rental process was smooth and the car decent.
After pre-purchasing coverage, at the counter the agent tried to pressure me into buying even more coverage and then when I declined, they placed an $1100 hold on my credit card for any possible scratches or damage. There were also several small fees that were not included in the original quote.
