Cheap Car Rentals in San Luis Potosi Airport

The car I was provided was extremely old, dirty and unsafe. When I requested another vehicle that was safer for my wife and three kids I was told if I wanted another car I needed to contract with another agency. Twice while I had the car it overheated and when I called the manager he told me just to take it to a gas station and they knew what to do - no assistance of any kind from the manager (why bother giving me your number). When I returned the car, which had significant body damage documented when I rented, they tried to accuse me of incurring additional damage during my rental period and they held my deposit. I have since called my credit card and put a hold on their charges and will be calling Budget directly and sharing my experience. I have been renting cars in Mexico for 30 years and this is the absolute worst experience I have ever had. I would never recommend Budget in SLP and Cesar the manager should not be allowed to operate this franchise any longer.

Our initial flight was cancelled and rebooked for the next day. I called Kayak immediately to modify our reservation and was told that the reservation would still be intact because it was within 24-48 hours after the initial pickup time. When I arrived the next day at our destination I was told by Enterprise that the reservation was, in fact, cancelled. This led to to me running around the airport searching for a rental vehicle, in a language I am not fluent in. No other rental agency had vehicles available at the correct size to accommodate our group, so I was forced to rent two cars instead at more than double the cost of the initial reservation. The amount of money they asked for deposit was an outrages amount, I will never rent from them.

The car rental agent wasn't honest about the cars damages. Be careful and check everything if possible take pictures.
