The Montrose airport is a third world country right now - Avid staff had to come out to find my vehicle for me. Everything under their control went very well. Not coincidentally, they have experienced, long tenure employees there.

We got a hot wire deal to get a SUV/minivan for our annual trip to the Telluride film festival. We had an excellent experience with the service representatives as well as the actual vehicle we rented. We will rent from them again!

Everything was Great. Fast service, nice clean car.

I got a free upgrade and was told when handed the keys. It would be better to ask if the customer wants an upgrade and what type of car rather than the brand. I had a gas guzzler SUV. I could have changed it but found out when I saw the car in the lot, and didn't want to spend more time... I would have preferred an economical one.

We were not given the 15 passenger van that we reserved--instead we were given a 7 passenger SUV for our 7 adults, skis, and luggage. We barely fit into the car and were not offered a refund or alternative.

I had reserved a car for pick up at the Montrose airport at 12 noon Saturday 3/19. I came at 1:00 and there were no cars available at all. I was told I had to wait until a car was turned in before I could have one and there were others ahead of me already waiting for cars to be turned in. This affected my vacation time and I did ask for a response of some kind but was told I would not get one.

Phone was off the hook and rang busy all day when trying to inform rental counter that our flight was severely delayed. Arrived to find nobody at rental counter. Called after hours person and they would not come in to give us our car. Only after 10 mins did the agent call back because she felt bad and said that she would come in to get us a car. However the airport would be close by the time she came in. Addressed these issues on the return trip at the rental counter and they denied saying their phone was busy and made nothing but excuses...

Car was available in the class I previously chose - no waiting. Big plus.

Car had quite a few scrapes & alot of rock chips - as long as I'm not charged, I don't care, but there were alot. I had never driven a push-button start vehicle - it should have been obvious, but without instruction, the car pic of the parking brake and the start/stop button made me think I had to make sure the parking brake wasn't on and I was in Park and then press Start. I had to acknowledge my ignorance and ask someone, in order to learn you had to press and hold the brake while you press the start/stop button; otherwise nothing. It would be great if agents asked about familiarity with this option, to avoid delay/embarrassment.

I feel that we were completely scammed by this company. We reserved a "standard SUV" which I have done dozens of times before at other locations and when I arrived I was told sorry but this is only a two wheel drive vehicle and I would need to pay $250 more plus tax to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Since it had just snowed about 2 feet I felt I needed a 4 wheel drive vehicle so I had to pay the additional money. For a few dollars more I could have reserved a Hertz vehicle and I KNOW that they would not have done this. I am aware that this is probably a franchisee but Budget should NOT allow them to do this. Furthermore the vehicle I was given was filthy dirty and they told me I could have it washed and they would pay me back... ALSO the first vehicle they gave me had a crack in the windshield running the entire width of the windshield AND the outside of the side view mirror was completely missing

We were charged an extra $100 for being half an hour early to pick up the car. The car smelled like cigarette smoke and Febreeze. The maintenance light was on with a dashboard message that said "maintenance required". We told the lady at the counter and requested a different car and her response was, "That's just for the oil change, you'll be fine. That's the only car you can take."

Staff was mildly friendly at best. we waited in line for over an hour to get our rental. The first rental we received had not been cleaned and smelled terribly of smoke. After returning to the counter we were offered another vehicle without question which was appreciated. Upon further driving of the Toyota we were provided, the breaks were absolute terrible and would cause major vibration when attempting to stop. With driving to Telluride through the mountains, the breaking situation is not ideal by any means.

Vehicles need to be updated and be properly maintained. Also, in that size airport, there needs to be more staff, there is no reason to be forced to wait an hour for a rental at any airport.
