My trip from SLC to Boston was HORRIBLE. On AS 2540 we sat on the tarmac for 4 hours - which i think is in violation of federal law. It was a fiasco - deiced then sat on the tarmac for almost an hour, at which time we were told there was a code error and the flight was cancelled. Then, we were told the error was corrected but we had to go back and refuel. Wait another hour while refueling, then back to deicing etc. We left at 11:30 pm - almost 4 hours after our scheduled departure. The seats are rock hard like sitting on wooden plank - which might be okay for a 1.5 hour flight from SLC to SEA, but not for almost 6 hours. When we got to SEA, the people working the customer care desk were incompetent. Despite already being rebooked for a 7 am flight to Boston, it took 20 minutes for them to figure out how to print a boarding pass. I had to find someone else at the desk to help the woman who was trying to print my pass. It was pretty bad "customer care". Then we were given the boarding pass and sent on our way. No food voucher, and no suggestion on where we might spend the time between 1 am and 6:30 am when the flight boarded. So, I roamed SEA looking for someplace that I might be able to sleep - but nothing. It seems reasonable that Alaska Air should have opened their lounge so that people could at least be comfortable. But nothing like that happened. Once on the flight from Seattle to Boston, the flight was pretty bad compared to JetBlue or Delta, or even SW. No entertainment other than in flight wifi. No food unless you wanted to buy it etc. I won't be flying Alaska Air again, and I will not be recommending it to anyone. Sorry - I really wanted to like your airline, but you did absolutely nothing to compensate for the SLC fiasco.
