My credit card covered rental insurance fully and Europcar asked for an email from my bank/credit card company before giving me the car. I had to call my credit card provider and have them send an email to Europcar. Pretty damn ridiculous. All told, I wasted three hours getting all this sorted, and even after I finally got them what they needed, they put a EURO 5,000 authorization charge on my account, an obscene amount for a one-week rental. Also: There's a 25 EURO airport surcharge that I was never made aware of, and a 35 EURO charge to travel into Northern Ireland, which I also wasn't made aware of until the time of payment. I recommend you book elsewhere, because a Google search tells me that not all car rental companies charge for traveling into Northern Ireland.

The car was grey.

Upon arrival in Dublin we were shuttled to an outside airport location. The quoted vehicle was not available, altho we had reserved it several months ahead. In fact they said Dublin NEVER carries that model (a 9 passenger van). So we were given a smaller (7 pax) vehicle which was way too small for our 6 adults to enjoy for a week. The quoted price was 1/4 of what they ended up charging. We had insurance but they would not accept it and required we pay the Europcar offered policy. We have rented in many other countries without all the insurance demands. We would never have booked with them if the initial quote had been correct as other vendors had just what we wanted. Europcar is a real RIPOFF.

Agent at airport was very helpful.

Insurance charges should be stated more clearly when booking. Insurance was nearly three times the price of the car. Car smelled like someone had been smoking in it.

I. Didn't like anything.

The booking made on kayak did not include any basic insurance, absolutely nothing, which is illegal. That's why kayak gave me low price. So when i arrived to the airport i was told that i didn't have any insurance. So they cancelled the booking and offered me a car for the same price but with insurance. I will never ever again use kayak and i will strongly recommend never to use it.

Small but fun car for cruising around Ireland. Great gas mileage with diesel and manual shift was crucial for backroads.

I told them no coverage but they wouldn’t really take no for an answer and it doubled the cost so really paid WAY too much.

I booked on your site for a 77 year old man and when we arrived, they refused to rent us a car. Luckily I myself had my driving license even though I didn't want to drive in Ireland. they also insisted we had to take their insurance as we couldn't opt out even though we were insured through our visa card.... Amazingly inefficient service on your part and not much better at Budget!

Hello. I'm Gabriel and I'm 21. I booked and reserved a car in Dublin Airport for 7:00 pm 15/10/2022 VolksWagen Polo , I went to the front desk and they didn't let me drive the car for my years of age. In the Kayak it didn't show the age policy and restrictions. I paid additionally the Axa additional driving insurance for €9.99 I'll send u the screenshot for the proof that I didn't know about anything and I would like to get a refund from the car and the insurance if it's possible. My driver's Name is Gabriel Cruz. Let me know as soon as possible

Very kind staff. Fast pick up and Return of the rental-car. The explanation where the shuttle picks up the people could be also send by mail with a map since there are two Stops at Terminal 1/2. We hope the rental-cars will be one day affordable for all people again ..it got really expansive the last years.( esp. during Corona. Thank you so much for Everything.

Insurance is a bit of a rip off and they don’t recognise our travel insurance covers their car. Car was given to us with a low pressure in a tyre, no water in the window washers and a drivers door handle loose.

Pick up from the airport took ages and getting a vehicle once we got to the depot also took a long time. We booked a small car and I got a 7 seat van which was fine for me but had one mirror held on with tape.

I know car rental companies make most of their profit from selling insurance but easirent’s insurance more than doubled the cost of the rental. Seemed excessive. Also the pick up was slow. Other than that the car and staff were fine.

The car quality isn’t great and the pick up location isn’t at the airport. Luckily another car company told me I needed to call them to pick us up from the airport to shuttle us to their location, otherwise we would have been screwed. Can’t really complain though considering their prices are so much lower for an automatic van than any other company.

Before booking you need to make it clear to people, that they can avoid a large excess by paying for insurance and you need to do this in advance. You also need to confirm that your office is not on site and give instructions in advance on how people get to your office. You need to resolve your phone connections because sometimes the number that you are expected to call does not work.

My drivers license was set to expire just after the rental would have been finished and even though my license was renewed in Canada, they would not allow the vehicle to be rented to me. Had to change to an automatic in my wife's name for an ADDITIONAL $2000.00 for a 12 day rental - total rental cost was $3300.00 Canadian for 12 days - and I didn't get to keep the rental. Ridiculous prices - the desk agent was lovely though.

The counter rep with whom we dealt with when we picked up the car, Grace, was very competent but friendly and helpful as well. The rep who went over the car with us was equally competent and friendly. Lastly, the rep we dealt with when we turned in the car, Dan, was also friendly and helpful. Your staff at Dublin were excellent and you should be proud of them.
