Treviso experiences hot summers, cool winters and rainfall year-round. The best weather happens in July and August when temperatures peak around 28 degrees Celsius. June and September can still welcome pleasant temperatures, with highs around 24 to 26 degrees Celsius, although June is the wettest month, so you may want to pack an umbrella.

Treviso is one of Italy’s many beautiful small cities whose character has been shaped by the ebb and flow of countless civilizations. Be sure to visit the Late Romanesque/Early Gothic church of San Francesco, built by Franciscans in the mid-13th century. Later, Napoleon used it as a stable, but it was reopened in 1928 and has been going strong ever since. Also check-out the Piazza Rinaldi, seat of three palaces of the Rinaldi family. The first was built in the 1100s after their flight from Frederick Barbarossa, while the second, with its distinctive ogival arches in the first floor loggia, is from the 15th century. The third and final palace was added in the 18th century. Sporting fans are also catered for, with Benetton Rugby Treviso playing top flight rugby union in the town between August and May.

Visitors may wish to take of advantage of a flight to Treviso and travel further afield. Venice is located very close by and is an absolute must-see when in the area. Alternatively, head north and visit the town and province of Belluno at the foot of the Alps. And whatever you do, be sure to eat as much as you possibly can; there is some fantastic cuisine in this part of Italy.

Getting around Treviso

Treviso is a relatively small city and is easily accessible on foot. In fact, this might be a preferable option to motorized transport due to the winding streets and bridges that compose the city centre. A popular and effective alternative to foot are bicycles and scooters.
