The process of “blocking” money on my credit card was completely wrong and they charged me then gave me a refund after the return. The problem here is that the result of charging rather than blocking meant the refunded difference once in my account left €40 less! Terrible customer service due to ACE Rentals seemingly being owned by two companies - Goldcar and Rhodium. After I complained to the company I have had no response other than “money has been refunded”. €40 was over half our original rental cost.
