I had a reservation with Budget that they refused to honor, when I arrived. I had made the reservation months earlier online. When I arrived, they actually gave me the car no problem, then it had something wrong with it, so they went to exchange it for another one. Somewhere in that process they decided that they couldn't give me a car at all for my original reservation, and refused to honor their commitment. I WAS SHOCKED. So I was standing there, stranded, with my 72-year old mother, two dogs and 5 suitcases in a country where neither of us spoke the language, and she hadn't left the US in probably 20 years. It was awful, unethical, and honestly, appalling, that they would do that. Then, they wouldn't even cancel my reservation and give me my money back! So I still need to call and ask for a refund. But it took us nearly a week to reach our destination, having to go way out of our way on trains, and rental cars... it was a nightmare. We had spent nearly $30k on this trip around the reservation we had made with Budget. I don't even want to know how much more it costs us to fix what they did in Rotterdam. Unbelievable.
