Our car was filthy, had a lot of blood stains all over, we felt so uncomfortable driving the car, if there are blood stains that means the car didn’t get cleaned. Our tires was bald and we didn’t feel safe driving. Seems like their cars are not maintained. It’s not safe to drive a car with tires that are very thin. Very disappointed with our rental, to think we’re in a different country and we want to make sure we feel safe.

The first car I received was unfortunately, difficult to drive because the transmission was subpar. I called the rental office and they immediately told me that they could give me a different car. The second car I received was much better and I had no problems with it during the month of rental.

Despite sending a confirmation email the day before my rental, Budget did not honor the reservation. In other words, they had no car to rent me, making up some lame excuse that when I made my online reservation, it was "after hours," and that "the server" sent the confirmation email automatically. The manager, an unsympathetic soul named Elgene actually suggested he might be able to get me a car at another car rental but I might have to pay alot more because Budget would not honor my guaranteed rate.

Our trip was scheduled to leave on Dec 4th. On Nov 8th the airline changed our departure to Dec 5th. I called and changed our arrival date thru the 1-800 # and spoke to a person named Mary and was told everything was taken care of. We arrived in Aruba on Dec 5th and we were told that since we didn’t pick up the vehicle on Dec 4th our vehicle was rented to someone else and they did not have any other vehicles available. They didn’t know anyone named Mary. Another gentleman was suppose to pick up his vehicle at noon but due to delays with the airlines he didn’t get there till 3:30 and was told the same thing.

The car rental company overbooked the office. Despite that, confirmation emails were sent repeatedly - the last one 24 hours before the pickup. When arriving at the office (by taxi) I was told that there is no car available, and no alternatives or compensation could be offered. In the end the booking can be regarded as "cheap talk" and ended up costing me money for absolutely nothing in return.

I made a reservation through your site and there was no car when I got there. I am under the impression that the entire point of your business is to make reservations as I have never seen a plane, hotel, or car with “Kayak.com” printed anywhere on these things making you guys a 3rd party reservation company. If your only business is to make it easier for me to compare prices and then make a reservation, and then the reservation is not honored by the company’s you partner with it would seem to me that in reality you do very little to make travelers lives easier and, in fact make them much more complicated when people arrive at their destination in some foreign country and have to battle with their phones in attempts to correct the very thing you claim to be the primary reason for your businesses existence. I would get it if say I tried to book tennis lessons through kayak as I have never seen tennis lessons offered through kayak but when it comes to flights, hotels, and cars I would have assumed you had that dialed in. Apparently I was wrong. Think about it for a second or two.

There are NO signs in front of the Aruba airport to direct you to Payless. Nothing whatsoever to direct you to the building next to the airport that only has Payless in it along with a hotel. Even calling the 800 number they had no idea where the offices were located. Only after going to Budget did they know where the Payless office was located.

Agents were nice and helpful. We picked up days into our trip so far and drop off would have been helpful. Confirmation email did not include exact location for pick up or a contact number so we went to the wrong location at first.

We had reserved a car for pick up near our hotel and were then told the pick up was available only at the airport location. We then proceeded to pay for a taxi to the airport only to be told, after waiting in line for 45 minutes that they gave our reservation to the gentleman in front of us in line. I asked the agent what the point of booking a reservation, only to be told that it is first come, first served. She also said we were late for pick up. Pick up was at 10:30am, we arrived at 10:15 and had we not had to wait in line behind the person that later received our rental we would have arrived in plenty of time. Very disappointed, poor service and a waste of $65 dollars as we then had to pay for a taxi back to our hotel.

Avoid Payless. Upon arrival we were bluntly told they ‘had no cars’ ‘were overbooked and could not do anything for us’ When reminded of their responsibility to honor the reservation the representative gruffly told us that they could not hire from another company. There we were stranded at the airport with kids. Very unprofessional, very rude, and unfortunately quite in character. We had to find an alternative rental on our own for double the price.

We have been renting from another car company for years. Enterprise was so convenient - right at that airport (no shuttle), the car looked new and was very well maintained AND it was the lowest we ever paid. We will use them again and tell our group!

The car was just the right size and it was very clean.

The drop-off was difficult because there was no where to park and there were no Enterprise attendants outside to provide assistance. Otherwise my overall experience with Enterprise was very good.

Staff and the process very easy.

Better maintained car. Our mini van was less than 50k miles but the van was long due for oil change and was making few noises. It had dents too. Otherwise the rental itself is good.

The gentleman at the car rental agency taught us how to load our car with luggage. We needed him to do it again on our return.

Too many extraneous charges and deposits up front that we didn't know about. They were waived upon return of the car, but a $361+ rental agreement came with deposits totaling $942+. That's one way to give a senior citizen heart failure.

Absolutely NOTHING

We made a reservation for a van amd when we got there there was NO van, there was also NO other vehicle that wohld fit 6 people available- we were given 0 options!!! We hace to take a small car and come back the next EVENING to get a van, disrupting all of our plans! Not to mention how RUDE the employees were, Michael was by far the rudest person!!! I hd to call Dollar US cuatomer service juat to complain because there was not even a manager in store!!

Was not a great value for money, since I can't say the car was in great condition which is what you would expect in rental cars. Luckily it didn't breakdown which was also a worry I had.

Long wait to check out, one clerk handling customer other clerk doing busy work. Waited 20 minutes, I was second customer in line. $1000 hold on credit card, not a problem but could be for some renters

Avis required a $1000 hold on a credit card at time of rental if their insurance is not accepted (& paid for...in which case it would have been a $500 hold).

Poor service. May 1st is labor day on the island. None bothered to inform customers that all gas stations would be closed. Every single customer complained about their lack of anticipation and it did not bother them to charge premium for gas not being full.

It was not expensive, even with the extra insurance.

Atrociously long wait at the airport rental counter. It took us 30 minutes to fly from Curaçao to Aruba, and one hour to rent! There were four people working at the counter, with one working and three looking and a huge line of customers. The car itself was rundown, big mileage (35,000km) and very basic. I understand it was an economy rental, but I expected more from Avis.
