I booked a Mercedes or similar for $375 but when I got there to pick it up they only had a Volkswagen Golf available and wanted $988. I got a my credit card total refund.Ordered a taxi to a location away from the airport and got a Mercedes for $340 from Enterprise.
For the sales person not to push so hard for insurance.
They didn’t have any mid-size suvs—the class we had reserved. Tried to rent us large 10 passenger van instead, which was unacceptable. Eventually manager became involved and we settled on Ford Galaxy which they told us was our only other option without paying much more.
Car rental facility, once you find it, is pretty close to the terminals, with rapid bus service.
Dropoff procedure at Manchester Airport was slow (10 minutes to get car checked in, due to understaffing) and not terribly friendly.

Agent was nitpicking at drop off. He focused on Minor wear and tear I could not even have seen at pickup because the car park was too dark. I was not charged, but it made me feel very uncomfortable and delayed my departure.
I’m from the US and when the car was returned 30 min late because I was lost, I was charged another day’s rental. Plus, the insurance rates are too high! I will not rent from Hertz again!

We will never rent from Easirent again. No shuttle provided even though we called and waited 1 hour. Not located in the Manchester Airport area. Took 2 hours to check out the car with no other customers there. We were given no paper work for the rental car. Had to call the mechanic and lost 3 vacation days because of problems with the car mechanics. The car return location was poorly marked and they would not provide a shuttle to Heathrow airport. Keep your money and get better service and customer help by renting somewhere else.
Our reservation was automatically cancelled due to late arrival, which was never explained as a possibility and then we were forced to pay more than double due to same-day rates. At drop off there were no signs explaining what needed to be done, so we wasted 15 minutes waiting in line only to find out that we needed to bring the car into the garage. Once in the garage there was no one to help so we had to wait another ten minutes for someone to show up to inspect the car. They just seem understaffed with no clear signage or directions.

Just been forced to pay insurance because I couldn’t make payments of the deposit… wouldn’t allow me to make 2 payments and my card wouldn’t do the larger amount in one transaction
Was told I needed to pay an extra £200 on top of the price that I had been quoted on the website. Apparently, because I had booked through a US website, insurance hadn't been included in the original quote!!
drop off at Gatwick was difficult. its at a hotel in the middle of a very confusing one way system, there are no visible signs until you get into the car park and if youre dropping it off on a sunday like I was theres no one to help you. I parked next to a van with the easirent logo on it so I assume it was the right place but the spaces had hertx written on the ground by them so I may well end up with a fine. who knows.
