The staff was extremely helpful, and very friendly. It seems like they did everything they could to help us get into an available car that they had.

I had rented a large seven person van through the kayak website, unfortunately they did not have a large seven passenger van. We had to cram every piece of luggage that we had into a five person station wagon. It was a bit tight. I don’t know if I blame kayak, or the Hertz rental place.

Never received my e-mail receipt for the rental as promised. They couldn't issue one at the counter when the car was returned. I did have them go to the car, review check it out for any issues which they did and and got a clean bill on the returned car. I had them sign the agreement stating so....but still no e-mail of final bill.

I booked my rental for the correct day, wrong month. Pre-paid through Kayak. They laughed with us and said not to worry about it - they had a car and it was fine. Didn't charge us a thing, gave us great driving advice (red always means stop, for example) and gave us a discounted way to cross bridges. And the car was new, clean, and fun to drive.

What's not to like? Best car rental experience of my life!

We bought full insurance coverage on the car. When we returned it, they found a small scratch on the bumper. We have received multiple emails from them to fill out an insurance form, threatening to cancel our coverage if we didn't return it. So we returned it. But they have sent it again. Unpleasant. Otherwise the rental was ok.

The car was terrible. We rented electric and the 250 km guaranteed distance between charges was only 100 km. The 4 hour long journey took us 7 hours due to the frequent charging. The charging time itself was also longer than suggested (over 45 min each time and that would not bring us to full). Then we broke down and needed assistance. Unfortunately it was in a different country from the original place of rental. This both countries had to be activated to come to our assistance. This was overall a disaster.

We signed up for a deal through KAYAK that specified a certain price and that there is unlimited milage included. After the booking confirmation we got a call from Avis saying the deal is not possible and brought up different terms and conditions that we agreed on.

That the car smelled like new

The staff was not friendly. The cars Bluetooth kept making static noises. Gas tank was extremely over priced. Car was overpriced.

Staff was helpful at pickup but gave no instructions on drop off.

They failed to inform us that if you dropped off after 5 o’clock you had to pay for overnight parking and there is no where to drop off. You have to pay for public parking. That made the rental extremely expensive for what we got. Very disappointing.

Rep who checked in was horrible. 8 times I told him that I had Ins coverage with my credit card benefits. Each time he refused and charged me anyway. At one time he said the res wasn’t theirs, other time he said I could leave. Unbelievably poor service and misleading info. Please report this guy to execs... he needs to go or be retrained. I would go with a different co.
