We were scheduled to pick up our rental car from CDG at 8:00 am. No body showed up at the counter until 10:00 am and there were 4 groups of people who had already been waiting for up to 2 hours. One week into our trip the rental car started having issues with warning lights coming on the dashboard. We phoned Europcar and they told us a mechanic would be out there the next morning to look at it and meanwhile, not to drive the car. No one showed up for 2 days. When someone did show up, it was a tow truck that towed the car away, leaving us with no car. After repeatedly phoning Europcar, they finally told us that we could pick up a replacement car in Lyon, 3.5 hours away, and we would have to take a taxi there. This was a completely ludicrous request, so we were forced to then rent a new car from Sixt, who went out of their way to accommodate us. We will never use Europcar again. Highly recommend Sixt, whose service and cars are so much better.
